The men’s 1500m event was highly anticipated, featuring a thrilling match between Olympic medalist Grant Fisher and a strong field including Australian Oliver Hoare, US Josh Hoey, and Graham Blanks, who made his professional debut.

Grant Fisher the Paris Olympics bronze medalist in the 5000m and 10000m, achieved a second-place finish and a new personal best time of 3:33.99 at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in the men’s 1500m.

Grant Fisher set a new world record in the 3000m at the 2025 Millrose Games, while Cole Hocker, defending Olympic 1500m champion, finished second, breaking the previous all-time mark of 7:23.81 set by Lamecha Girma (Ethiopia) in 2023.

Fisher surpassed Yared Nuguse’s 2023 American Record of 7:28.23. Fisher now holds the indoor American Records for both 3000m and 2 miles. He plans to set a 5000m American Record at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invite on February 14, aiming to beat Woody Kincaid’s 12:51.61 from 2023.
