UCF Cross Country Invitational 2024

Seven teams opened up their 2024 season at the UCF XC Invite. Featured teams were Florida State University (FSU), University of Florida (UF), University of Central Florida (UCF), University of South Florida (USF), Jacksonville University (JU), Stetson University (SU), and Bethune-Cookman University (BCU).

The Florida State cross country teams collected their first team win of the season. The women’s team achieved an impressive 18 points, with six ladies in the top 10.

Their order of finish was Lily Guinn (1st – 17:16.4), Bieke Schipperen (2nd – 17:30.6), Addison Boyer (5th – 18:22.2), Anna Sentner (6th – 18:30.4), Brooke Hooper (7th – 18:32.9), and Dani Thompson (10th – 18:38.0).

UF finished second overall with their team securing 51 points.

Their athletes finished as followed, Breanna Stuart (3rd – 18:17.9), Ashley Fitzgerald (9th – 18:34.0), Ashley Klingenberg (15th – 18:55.7), Christiana Coleman (19th – 19:02.6), Kate Drummond (20th – 19:02.7), Lindsey Kiehl (28th – 19:20.0), Avery Fronrath (31st – 19:30.3), Ava Wyant (40th – 20:11.1), and Annie Loehle (58th – 21:35.1).

UCF secured third place with a team score of 80 points.

Team finished as followed, Isabella Richardson (8th – 18:33.7), Abby Clements (21st – 19:04.7), Kendall Hughes (22nd – 19:10.1), Ava Quattrochi (27th – 19:15.6), Paige Jaszczak (30th – 19:26.1), Penelope Sosa (32nd – 19:31.0), Gianna Del Pizzo (33rd – 19:31.5), Riley Jaszczak (38th – 19:55.2), Reese Anderson (39th – 20:00.3), Lucy Voss (41st – 20:12.7), and Avery Latto (53rd – 20:59.5).

The Florida State men’s cross country team secured the W in their season opener. Seven men finished in the top 10.

FSU top 7 runners were Kidus Misgina (1st – 14:32.4), Ahmed Ibrahim (2nd – 14:33.3), Zach Leachman (3rd – 14:51.1), Matthew Neill (5th – 15:01.3), Joe Farley (6th – 15:08.5), Zachary Cloud (7th – 15:11.6), Coleman Cronk (10th – 15:27.3)

The Florida Gators finish with 50 points to finish in second place. Their top runners were Emerson Miller (11th – 15:30.0), Michael Fiore (12th – 15:34.5), Alex Pena (16th – 15:41.4), Riley Novack (17th – 15:44.4), and Aiden Villasuso (18th – 15:47.0).

USF finished with 100 points and the third place team. Their top athletes were Aiden Maue (22nd – 15:50.8), Sean Perry (28th – 16:13.3), Sebastian Edwards (29th – 16:19.3), John Keester (30th – 16:24.2), and Jayven Garcia (39th – 16:52.0).
